I love teaching philosophy. I consider it my vocation and calling in life. This is because I believe that philosophy is concerned with how we should live, and everyone has an interest in answering this question well. I believe that every student who walks into my class has philosophical and moral commitments, whether or not they’ve used the tools of philosophy to reflect on them. Nothing brings me greater joy than to help my students learn how to engage with those commitments, as well as the reasons of others, in a philosophically responsible way.
